Quality assurance for our special fasteners
Quality assurance measures accompany your special and custom fasteners from enquiry to delivery.
Manufacturability analyses and technical reviews against the specified order drawings, DIN standards and specifications identify potential sources of error at an early stage.
Every special fastener passes through our quality assurance checks: first article inspection under the four-eyes principle, hardness testing per batch, thread inspection with gauges and thread micrometer, final inspection before shipping, all with traceability back to the heat.
Destructive and non-destructive product tests are carried out and certified by our own test personnel and by independent, accredited materials testing laboratories.
Frequently asked questions
Questions and answers on special and custom fasteners
What is the difference between special fasteners and standard fasteners?
Standard fasteners follow a standard in shape, material and property class and are bought from a catalogue. Special fasteners differ in at least one respect: dimensions, head shape, material, property class, thread, testing or certificate. RS Randack manufactures them to your drawing, even as one-offs.
What information does RS Randack need for a quotation?
Drawing or standard, material and property class, quantity, certificate type, third-party inspection body (if required), coating and delivery date.
Does RS Randack supply fasteners with a 3.2 inspection certificate?
Yes. Third-party inspections by all common inspection bodies and classification societies take place regularly in our own materials laboratory in Hagen; certificates 2.1, 2.2, 3.1 and 3.2 to EN 10204.
