ISO 9001 and ISO 14001: quality and environmental management

ISO 9001 is the globally established standard for quality management systems. It requires a company to define, document, measure and improve its processes from enquiry to delivery, assign responsibilities, calibrate test equipment and systematically eliminate errors. ISO 14001 applies the same principle to environmental protection: energy, waste, coolants, emissions and compliance with environmental regulations are recorded and managed. Both certificates are issued by an accredited certification body following an audit and are subject to annual surveillance.

Scope at RS Randack

RS Randack is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for the scope of manufacture and supply of special bolts and screws, fasteners, special parts and parts made to drawing. Environmental management to ISO 14001 is in place alongside it; the transition to the new edition of the standard has been initiated. Both certificates are available in the Downloads section.

Why this is the basis for the other approvals

Assessment as a material manufacturer to AD 2000 W0 and EN 764-5, the qualification certificate to KTA 1401, factory production control to EN 15048 and the approvals from Bureau Veritas and DNV all require a functioning quality management system and assess the technical requirements on that basis. Customer audits on site also follow the processes described in ISO 9001. Certification to ISO 9001 is also a prerequisite when selecting partners for heat treatment and coating.

Quotation, order review, works order, inspection, certificate and shipping follow defined procedures that are audited. For supplier approvals, you receive the certificates and, on request, the plant description; on-site audits are welcome.
