Cold-formed parts at RS Randack

Cold-formed parts are fasteners and shaped components that are formed from wire or bar sections at room temperature in several stages: rivet studs, headless pins, press-fit parts, bushings, sleeves, semi-hollow parts, nuts and two-blow headed parts. The process delivers high volumes with consistent dimensional accuracy, continuous grain flow and no material lost as chips. With these, RS Randack complements its own production of special fasteners with high-volume parts to drawing: developed and coordinated in Hagen, formed by qualified partners, and inspected and documented like every other RS Randack part.

What you get

Parts to drawing from several tens of thousands of pieces per lot, optionally under a blanket order with call-offs over one or two years
Cold-forming materials such as C10C, Cq45, 35B2, 41Cr4 and 34Cr4, stainless steels and free-cutting steels, with a mill certificate for each heat
Subsequent quenching and tempering, case hardening and coating, for example zinc electroplating or zinc flake, with threads within gauge after coating
Tooling costs shown separately, so you can assess unit price and one-off costs independently
For smaller quantities, the same part as a turned part from our own turning shop, so that first articles and ramp-up quantities do not have to wait for the forming tool
Incoming inspection, dimensional report, 3.1 certificate and batch traceability by our quality assurance in Hagen

What to specify for a quotation

Drawing with tolerances, material or alternatives, annual requirement and batch size, surface treatment, testing and certification requirements, and the required delivery date for first articles and series production. Please also enquire if you currently buy a turned part and want to switch to a cold-formed design: we will check the quantity from which the tooling pays off.
